Since 2004, the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) has been leading clinical trials for the purpose of finding effective methods of treatment and preventative medicine for Alzheimer’s Disease.
ADNI3 is the fourth phase of the research initiative, extending the work of previous Alzheimer’s studies by researching various brain structures, functions and participant biomarkers. The ADNI3 team came to Chapter Three with the main goal of providing recruitment for the therapeutic trials in Alzheimer’s disease, using a brand new Drupal 8 platform that allowed potential clinical trial participants to find the nearest participating Clinic Sites.
Custom roles catered to newbie admins
The site allows a common backend for the Clinic Administrators to maintain content for their own location.
Google Maps API
Over the next 3 years, ADNI3 will be continuously adding new active site locations to their map across the United States and Canada.
Chapter Three used the Google Maps API to generate precise locations for all of the active and future clinic sites. This functionality is key in recruiting the most potential participants possible.
